Recognised river cruise knowledge
Expertise that goes beyond the brochure.
The CLIA River Cruise Excellence Champion Award recognises exceptional commitment, engagement and performance throughout the specialist Champion Programme.

Questions people often ask.
Which river is best for a first river cruise?
The Danube and Rhine are excellent introductions. The Danube brings imperial cities and variety. The Rhine offers castles, wine towns and easy access from the UK.
How do river cruise lines differ?
Ship design, inclusions, excursion choice, dining, service style and independent time can all differ. The itinerary title rarely tells the whole story.
What happens if river levels change?
Cruise lines monitor conditions and may alter sailing, use coaches or swap ships. I explain each line’s approach and the resilience of the itinerary.
Do I need a balcony on a river cruise?
Not necessarily. Window design, deck height and public viewing space all matter. I explain where an upgrade changes the experience and where it may not.
